Jennifer Lopez Paid a Visit to Ben Affleck on His Birthday Amid Split Rumors

His ex-wife Jennifer Garner also stopped by.

Rumor has it, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are simply waiting for the right time to announce their split—but that hasn't stopped Lopez from spending a little time with her husband on his birthday.

The actor turned 52 yesterday and she was seen leaving his home in Brentwood, California in the afternoon. In photos published by Page Six, the singer can be seen stepping into her car wearing jeans, hoop earrings, and a ponytail. Earlier in the day, Affleck's ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, was also seen stopping by the house.

Lopez made no public statement about her husband's birthday, but instead, took to Instagram to share a few photos of herself in a sheer Dior gown. Last year, things were a little different with Lopez posting a video of the pair in the car together, writing, "Dear Ben … Happy Birthday. I love you!"

The sighting of Lopez at Affleck's home comes after reports that Lopez and Affleck plan on spending a little more time together in the coming weeks after spending the summer apart. "Just because she's not with Ben doesn't mean that she doesn't care about his kids," a source told People. Lopez reportedly paid Affleck a visit on August 11 and spent some time with his son, Samuel. This was allegedly their first meeting in several weeks, as a source told People in early August.

Rumors of a split have been bubbling away for several months now. After a widely publicized relationship in the early 2000s, the pair rekindled their romance in 2021 and married in a small ceremony the following year. Lopez went on to write, direct, and star in This Is Me... Now, a film inspired by her relationship with Affleck. The pair made their last official appearance at the film's premiere in February and were spotted house hunting in New York the next month. They weren't seen together again until May, but it was soon reported that Affleck had moved out of their shared home. In June, a source told Entertainment Tonight that they were living "separate lives." Last month, Lopez rung in her 55th birthday with a Bridgerton-themed party in Hamptons —Affleck was not in attendance.

Although one source told US Weekly that there was a "sliver of hope" for the couple, other reports suggest that the pair are struggling with "deep issues."

Jacqueline Newman, a divorce attorney, recently told us that she believes an announcement is coming, but it may take some time.

“When you're dealing in a high-profile divorce and you're dealing with people [whose] marriage is very, very interesting to the public and their reputations are very important, there's a lot of maneuvering that takes place that wouldn't in a divorce where you weren't really dealing with public figures,” Newman explained.

She continued, “I think that they just want to do it the right way and they want to be respectful...They are going to be, I'm sure, making a statement saying that they love each other very much, they just weren't able to make this work, and they have a lot of respect for each other and their families; The kind of typical story and statement that people make when they're getting divorced. But, they won't be revealing any specifics.”
