These are New Jerseyans favorite employers according to Forbes annual survey
Forbes coveted Best Employers by State list is out.
The ranked list shows which are the most liked employers with at least 500 workers. Through a partnership with Statista, a market research company, Forbes surveyed 160,000 employees in the country and asked them, on a scale from 0 to 10, how likely they were to recommend their employer. Respondents were also asked to asses any other employer they had in the past two years.
Responses were then tallied and scored along with survey data from the past three years, with greater weight given to the more recent data and to responses from the companies' current employees.
Here are some highlights from the New Jersey list.
Tax filing company H&R Block came up in the first place.
Wegmans Food Market and Costco are New Jersyans workers' favorite retail employers holding the second and seventeenth position respectively.
Rutgers University (12th), William Paterson University (42nd), NJ Institute of Technology (44th), and Princeton University (59th) were the only higher education institutions in the list.
Headquartered in Cherry Hill, TD bank ranked fourth overall and as the best employer in the state within the banking category.
New Jerseyans rather work for Microsoft (14th) that for Apple (16th).
NJ Transit (23rd), Wawa (39th), and the State of New Jersey (66th) also made their way into the list.
New Jersey is one of the 32 states that list their own state as one of their top employers. In 18 of those 32 jurisdiction, the state ranked within the top 30 positions.
