Watching Titanic for the very first time is something that movie buffs never forget and for the film's star, Kate Winslet, having her children watch it is another momentous occasion. The Oscar-winning actress explained to E! News that her 10-year-old son, Bear, recently watched the three-hour epic and he was understandably distraught.

The film is rated PG-13, FYI, and Winslet said that Bear saw it last year, putting him outside of the intended audience. Winslet noted that he had to pause the film repeatedly and that he cried a lot.

"My youngest has seen Titanic, he saw it last year," Winslet shared. "He cried a lot, and he kept having to pause it, and he was very upset."

Winslet shares Bear with her husband, Edward Abel Smith. She also haas two other children: a 23-year-old daughter named Mia, whom she shares with ex-husband Jim Threapleton; and a 20-year-old son named Joe, whom she shares with ex-husband Sam Mendes.

The star went on to say that her other children have seen her films, as well, noting that Titanic isn't on the top of their favorites lists.

"My older two, who are nearly 24 and 21, they love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Yeah, that's a big favorite for them," she shared before adding that she was slightly disappointed that they'd watched that one without her. "They'll just sort of say, 'Oh, I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind the other day.' I'm like, 'What? You watched it without me?'"

She shared her love of the cult classic, saying that she wanted to have a special moment with her kids as they watched the movie, but it wasn't meant to be.

"I think Eternal Sunshine was one of those films that seemed to really capture people's minds, sort of a zeitgeist thing that happened around that film," she said. "And so I think I always thought I would want to watch it with my kids one day. But they beat me to it."
