Kelly Clarkson Looks Absolutely Stunning in a Sparkling Blue Mini Dress at the Olympics Opening Ceremony
The Olympics have officially kicked off in Paris, and there are sure to be jaw-dropping moments throughout the event. And, while the athletes from 206 countries are the stars of the Opening Ceremonies, Kelly Clarkson made a memorable appearance of her own.
The original American Idol is hosting the ceremony and rose to the occasion with a gorgeous blue minidress encrusted with silver jewels. She paired the outfit with metallic silver pumps, a loose ponytail, and bright red lipstick.
Before the opening ceremonies kicked off, Kelly shared a video wearing the official Team U.S.A. jacket. She wrote, "On my way to the opening ceremony! Can’t wait to have some fun with @miketiriconbc and @peytonmanning tonight! Such an honor to be here! Go team USA ❤️ #Paris2024 #OpeningCeremony"
Kelly said she'd attended the Olympics once before in 2006, but this is her first time hosting. She's accompanied by former NFL star Peyton Manning and longtime announcer Mike Tirico. She said, "I can't talk about much, but it's going to be really, really rad. You're going to love it."
Kelly revealed that before heading out for her appearance, she was hanging out with her kids in the hotel playing Roblox. Her daughter, River, asked when they'd be going to the red carpet. She told Access Hollywood, "My daughter was like, ‘When are we going on the red carpet? I was like, ‘Baby, you’re not walking,’ she called it the runway. ‘When are we going on the runway?’ And I was like, ‘you’re not going on the runway.’ I was like, ‘River, nobody can get anywhere in this place it’s so tightly locked down.’ I said, ‘You won’t even see Mommy.'" Instead, River and her brother Remy will watch from the hotel with Kelly's family.
