A "1,000-lb Sisters" star with west Kentucky ties is facing charges following a Labor Day arrest at a Tennessee zoo.

Amy Slaton Halterman, who appeared on the first two seasons of the TLC docuseries "1,000-lb Sisters" in 2020, is charged with two counts of child endangerment, one count of the illegal possession of a schedule one drug and one count of the illegal possession of a schedule six drug.

In a statement, the Crockett County Sheriff's Department said deputies were called to the Tennessee Safari Park, a local drive-thru zoo, on Labor Day at around 3:15 p.m. after a camel allegedly bit Slaton Halterman. Upon arrival, deputies were "immediately overtaken" by odors from her vehicle.

Slaton Halterman and Brian Lovvorn, also in the vehicle, were arrested on the same charges. The two were booked into the Crockett County Jail after Slaton Halterman was taken to an area hospital for treatment, sheriff department spokesperson Stephen Sutton said.

Sutton said two children, both under 8 years old, were in the vehicle and were released back to family on Labor Day. Slaton Halterman and Lovvorn were released from Crockett County Jail on a $10,000 bond each around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Slaton Halterman appeared on "1,000-lb Sisters" with sister Tammy Slaton, both of Dixon, in 2020. The TLC docuseries highlighted the two's weight loss journey as they worked to be approved for bariatric surgery.
