Kylie Jenner is treating her past self with kindness.

In her cover story for British Vogue’s “Big Fashion Issue,” the Kylie Cosmetics mogul, 27, opened up about her past cosmetic surgeries, including her breast augmentation surgery, and why she felt “pressure” from the world to “make the right decisions,” even as a teen.

“I just have to be gentle with myself because although I carried so much responsibility in the moment, I was just trying to do what was best for me. I was just trying my best as a human. I have to realize: ‘It’s OK, Kylie,’” she said. “Looking back, I’m like, ‘God, I was 17, 18.’”

The scrutiny didn't stop then though, because when she became a mom to daughter, Stormi, 6, and son Aire, 2 (both of whom she shares with rapper Travis Scott), she still felt the weight of all the criticism thrown her way as she dealt with her body image.

“I felt in shape and it was working out,” Jenner said of losing her “baby weight” following the birth of Stormi in 2018. “And then I got pregnant and did it all over again. I feel like people didn’t give me, or give women in general, enough empathy. I see pictures [online] and people are accusing me of being on drugs or something...” she said, indirectly referencing Ozempic, which has been popularized in Hollywood for weight loss, when noting that she's again the weight she was post-pregnancy.

On top of navigating motherhood in the public eye, Jenner struggled with postpartum depression after both of her pregnancies. “Mentally, it’s really hard. Hormonally, it’s really hard. I didn’t know how to dress,” she told British Vogue.

But she’s managed to come back stronger from the criticism in major ways when it comes to her sense of style, dominating front rows at fashion shows around the globe or the Met Gala carpet and pouring her passion for fashion into her clothing brand, Khy.

“I feel like I’ve been in full mommy mode in my early 20s, [so] just to do something more for me after I had my son…” she said. “I’ve been way more into the fashion world and fashion week, and it’s been so much fun. I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I do this sooner?’ Every time I go to Paris things just happen. I love the fast pace. It’s a whole new world.”

Her stylists, sisters Alexandra and Mackenzie Grandquist, also praised Jenner’s natural eye for style, telling the outlet: “She has fun with it. She knows herself. [It’s] what makes her relatable to a generation of women,” adding, “She knows herself and her body very well.”
