Labrador Retriever Refuses to Eat Any Meal Until Mom Prays With Him

If religion is a big part of your life, you probably don't start any meals without a thankful prayer to the one you believe in. The same is true for Hayley Buckland's black Labrador Retriever, Bud. Even when mom puts his food out for him, he still waits for her to say a prayer before he digs in!

In the video Haley posted towards the end of July, Haley offers Bud two different things for dinner and asks him to choose one. He chooses spinach, and mom puts it in his bowl. But he won't eat it just yet. Watch as Bud follows mom around, waiting for her to say a suppertime prayer before digging in!

This is just too sweet! I love how Bud put his paw on her and waited for 'God Is Great". My heart! Some of the comments cracked me up. @NutriPurePH shared, "First he prays before eating, now he eats spinach! He's a very, very good boy!!! @musiclove_328 added. "He’s amazing! A Godly dog and he eats healthy food too?? My dream dog buddy!"

Differences Between Labradors and Golden Retrievers

Whenever I find videos of Labrador Retrievers or Golden Retrievers, there's usually a comment or two of people mixing the breeds up. At first glance, the two breeds look very similar. But if you look closer, there are some noticeable differences between them.

For me, the easiest way to tell if it's a Golden or a Lab is by their coats. Labs have a short, straight, dense coat while Goldens are known for their long, soft coats. The two can also be told apart by their coloring. The American Kennel Club's standard for Golden Retrievers is just as the name implies and they only come in various golden shades. Lab's coat colors are black, yellow, and chocolate.

Labs are generally the bigger of the two breeds; males tend to weigh 65 to 80 pounds, while females weigh 55 to 70 pounds. Golden males weigh between 65 to 75 pounds, while females weigh 55 to 65 pounds. Labs tend to stand taller as well.

Other than just by looking at them, there are some personality differences as well. The AKC explains, "The personalities have some subtle differences as well. Smith finds Goldens to be clingy compared to Labradors." And when it comes to training the breeds, Dr. Fran Smith explains that Goldens love repetition whereas Labradors don’t. She also adds, “I can tell you that it is easier to deal with an untrained Golden Retriever than an untrained Labrador Retriever.”

Both dog breeds are gorgeous and extremely popular, I prefer Golden Retrievers over Labs. They just seem to be the happiest dogs around and are always so friendly. Do you prefer one over the other?
