Liam Payne Hospitalized in Italy for the Second Time in Recent Weeks

Liam Payne is currently getting medical treatment at a hospital in Italy, as confirmed by Rolling Stone.

The Sun reported that Payne fell ill with intense kidney pain suddenly while on vacation with girlfriend Kate Cassidy in Lake Como and had to be rushed to the hospital, but as of writing, no details about the situation have been confirmed.

Payne's current hospital visit is the second time in the past few weeks that he sought medical care, with the 30-year-old undergoing treatment for a kidney infection at the end of August.

The situation led Payne to postpone his tour of South and Central America, which was set to start on Sept. 1 and continue through Sept. 12, ending in Mexico City.

Payne spoke to his fans about the sad news on X (formerly known as Twitter) with a video message posted on Aug. 25, in which he said, "It’s with a heavy heart I have to tell you that we have no other choice but to postpone my upcoming tour of South America."

The former One Direction member went on to explain that he was in the hospital throughout the previous week due to a "serious kidney infection," before adding, "It’s something I wouldn’t wish on anyone, and doctors orders are that I now need to rest and recover."

Payne apologized to his fans and shared that he "was beyond excited to come play for you guys." He noted that his team was working hard to reschedule the tour dates, but for the time being, they refunded all the purchased tickets.

"Thanks as always for the love and support, and look forward to seeing you soon," the singer signed off.

Since the new reports of his hospitalization in Italy, neither Payne nor his team has commented on the situation.
