Color of the year season is officially in full swing, and another brand just announced a beautiful hue to give you plenty of inspiration for your upcoming painting projects. C2 has chosen Raku—a captivating burnt, brownish red—as its 2025 color of the year.

This is the second brand to predict a red renaissance in the coming year (Behr paint chose Rumors, a classic red, as its 2025 hue). The shade has been popular throughout history, but it's currently being reimagined in ways that are fresh and modern—and Raku is proof of that sentiment.

The earthy, burnt red color draws inspiration from a centuries-old pottery technique known for its unique, variegated patterns that embrace the beauty of imperfection. Designed to infuse spaces with drama and intimacy, Raku is a deep yet vibrant color with hints of rich mahogany.
