Cate Blanchett always knows how to do a red carpet right, whether she’s bringing back a beloved look, putting a totally new spin on a past look, or debuting a fabulous new creation. Now, as the Venice Film Festival kicks off its second day, it’s clear that Blanchett is vying for the title of most stylish guest.

For day two of the festival, the Oscar-winning actor attended the photocall for her new Apple TV+ series, Disclaimer. The highly-anticipated show is based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Renée Knight, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, it received quite the large budget. This makes sense given that it marks the first of a string of new shows that will come from director Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity, Roma), who recently struck a deal with the streamer.

In order to support such a gargantuan new series, Blanchett decided to go big with her look, which was a polka-dot pantsuit from the Moschino Fall/Winter 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Styled by Elizabeth Stewart, the set proved that Blanchett continues to be a risk-taker on the red carpet. And while a leopard can never change its spots, why would we ask her to when she looks this good?

The red-carpet ensemble consisted of a black single-breasted blazer and straight leg slacks, both of which were decorated with large white dots (a reverse Dalmatian, if you will). To keep the two-tone theme consistent, Blanchett added a pair of pointy black heels, while layering a white tuxedo shirt underneath.

The look originally featured a polka-dot tie when it went down the runway, but the removal of that accessory allowed Blanchett’s suit to shine. For this reason, she kept her jewelry simple too, opting to wear only silver stud earrings.

Blanchett has been on a streak of winning outfits in Venice already, from her exquisite metallic gown to her puffy-sleeved top, both courtesy of Armani Privé. Suffice it to say that whenever she arrives, we know the fashion is gonna be good—no disclaimer needed.
