Chuck Norris has been married to his wife, Gena O’Kelley, since 1998.

The actor and martial artist first met O’Kelley in 1997 while he was on a dinner date with someone else, but after she played a small part in his show Walker, Texas Ranger, the next day, he asked her out on a date.

A year later, the pair got married, and in 2001 they welcomed a set of twins, son Dakota and daughter Danilee.

Since then, Norris and O'Kelley have traveled together, attended numerous public events alongside each other, and have appeared in a commercial together. O’Kelley has supported Norris in his philanthropy work, including serving as a co-chair for his nonprofit.

In 2021, Norris praised his wife on Facebook, writing, “So proud of my wife Gena. Not only is she a wonderful wife and mother, she's a fantastic business owner who continually amazes me with her multitasking abilities.”

She married Norris in 1998

Norris met O’Kelley in Dallas in 1997 while he was on a dinner date with someone else, according CBN.

Norris wrote about meeting his wife in his 2004 book, Against All Odds. “Gena came on the set the next day and played a small part on the show ... I invited her to dinner that night ... I wanted to get to know Gena better, so I asked her to return to Dallas as soon as possible," he recounted. "She came back a couple of weeks later, and our friendship grew into a dating relationship. Before long, I felt myself falling head over heels in love.”

O’Kelley and Norris got married on Nov. 28, 1998.

She welcomed two children with Norris

O’Kelley and Norris welcomed twins — son Dakota Alan and daughter Danilee Kelley — together on Aug. 30, 2001. Dakota appears to have followed in his father’s footsteps as a fifth-degree black belt in Chun Kuk Do, according to his Instagram profile.

O’Kelley is also stepmother to Norris’ three children from previous relationships: Mike, Dina and Eric.

She worked as a model and TV personality

O’Kelley worked as a model and also has appeared on TV. She had a role in Walker, Texas Ranger, according to CBN, and appeared in Praise the Lord on TBN alongside Norris in 2004.

She also appeared in a 2003 episode of the sitcom Yes, Dear, in which Norris also starred.

Now, O’Kelley is a businesswoman and serves as CEO of CForce, a water bottling facility founded by O’Kelley and Norris in 2015.

She and Norris run a nonprofit together

Norris founded the Kick Drugs Out of America Foundation in 1990, and alongside O’Kelley he renamed it Kickstart Kids in 2003. The aim of the nonprofit is to empower youth through karate, and Norris and O’Kelley are currently co-chairs.

The couple told NewBeauty in 2023 that one of their "favorite shared passions" is giving back to the community. “We started Kickstart Kids, which is truly a fantastic organization that teaches martial arts and character development to students," they said. "We’ve reached more than 100,000 kids, and the breakthroughs that we’ve seen mean the world to us.”

She often joins Norris in public

Norris and O’Kelley often appear together at various events. In June 2017, they attended the Wizard World Comic Con in Philadelphia, while the previous November they went to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AAA Texas 500 alongside famous friends including Dennis Quaid and former baseball pitcher Jim Morris.

They also enjoy traveling together. In May 2022, Norris posted an Instagram photo of himself with O’Kelley in Santa Cruz, Calif., with the caption: “What a wonderful day it was in Santa Cruz with my beautiful wife!”

Norris often posts about O’Kelley on social media

Norris frequently shares photos of his wife on social media. To celebrate her birthday in August 2022, he posted a snapshot of the pair together on Instagram with the caption: “Happy birthday to the most amazing woman that God could have ever blessed me with. Gena, I love you more than words can even describe.”

In November 2021, he celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary with an Instagram post featuring a photo of the couple embracing. He wrote, “My love, my life, my best friend, my world. Happy 23rd Anniversary to my beautiful wife that God blessed me with when we met 25 years ago. I love you with all my heart.”

O’Kelley and Norris are both passionate about fitness and exercise

O’Kelley and Norris detailed to NewBeauty how they like to incorporate wellness practices into their daily routine. “We try to weave them throughout our day — things like taking a walk on our ranch, meditation and prayer, and working out together. Healthy aging is one of our shared priorities, so we’ve developed daily rhythms for nourishing our bodies well and staying active," they said.

“We enjoy our healthy lifestyle, so nothing really feels like an indulgence, but coffee is definitely a favorite staple at the Norris ranch," they continued. "Also, we generally try not to eat later than 6 p.m. because we’ve found that habit helps us wake up the next morning feeling energized, but occasionally we’ll bend that rule and enjoy an evening dessert.”

Norris has been a Total Gym fan for a number of years, and has appeared in commercials and infomercials for the company. O’Kelley also appeared in a commercial with him.
