Couple Who Charged Wedding Guests $333 Share 'Non-Traditional' Event Details, from 12-Hour Day to Denim Dress Code

The bride and groom didn't tell guests what to expect during their ticketed half-day event

The bride and groom who charged their weddings guests a $333 attendance fee divulged more details from their controversial nuptials in New York.

In a series of TikTok videos, Nova and Reemo Styles listed more unorthodox aspects of their big day, which they treated as a ticketed event. On social media, the couple also shared that their paying guests "had no clue what was going to happen" during the Styles' 12-hour-long wedding day.

In a TikTok voiceover, the groom explained that attendees "blindly purchased tickets for $333," only knowing the half-day length of the event and the dress code, the latter of which was another "non-traditional thing" about the day. The newlyweds told their guests in another TikTok video to dress in "a dope New York City street style denim look."

"It was a 12-hour day, and people are conditioned to be formal for weddings," Nova said of the denim dress code in the video. "We wanted our peeps to be fly, comfy and beyond the conditioned beliefs."

The day started on an unconventional note too, with a sound bath atop a double-decker bus. The couple shared footage from their group meditation in another TikTok video and explained their intentions: "We cultivated deep relaxation and as we, along with our guests, began our wedding experience," Reemo said in his voiceover.

Earlier this month, ABC 7 reported that the Styles spent $70,000 on the festivities. One $333 ticket allowed guests a seat on a double-decker tour bus and entry to the 12-hour event, which included stops at sentimental landmarks around New York City, including Hudson Yards, One World Trade Center, the courthouse and a movie theater.

The Styles spoke to the outlet about their reasons for charging guests, a move that sparked some pushback from displeased invitees. Responses were mixed, with Nova telling ABC 7 that pushback ranged from, "Don't care," to "Who do you guys think you are? Jay-Z and Beyoncé?"

As for how the couple settled on a ticket price of $333, Reemo told FOX 10, "The number three, three, three stands for change, growth and strength. It was something that we wanted to be intentional about as well for my personal enjoyment. It's a number that isn't too easy, but not it's not too hard as well."

They also told the outlet that the fee wasn't intended to recoup any wedding expenses. Instead, the proceeds went to a charity foundation supporting couples struggling with infertility.
