Da'Vine Joy Randolph Makes a Statement in a Yellow Hooded Gown at the 2024 Emmys

Da'Vine Joy Randolph is on a style streak, and it continued at the Emmys tonight.

Last weekend, Randolph stepped out for two very different event in two equally fashionable outfits that channeled old Hollywood glamour. At the Creative Arts Emmys, she wore a Christian Siriano corset gown, and at the U.S. Open, she wore an off-the-shoulder blue dress that she paired with an oversized sunhat. "Dare to be a lil extra," she posted on her Instagram stories earlier this week. "It's more fun that way, I promise."

She never misses on the red carpet, and tonight is no exception: she wore a glamorous yellow gown by Sophie Couture, styled by Wayman and Micah. According to Zanna Rassi, Randolph was inspired by Grace Jones and 90s fashion.

Randolph was nominated for best guest actress in a comedy for her role as Detective Donna Williams in Only Murders in the Building. Though she lost last weekend (the category was announced at the Creative Arts Emmys), she's still in attendance at the Emmys tonight as a presenter, and to support Only Murders.

It's been a big year for Randolph: In March, she won her first Oscar for her performance in The Holdovers. "For so long, I've always wanted to be different, and now I realize, I just need to be myself. And I thank you. I thank you for seeing me," she said in her moving acceptance speech.

She joins an elite group of actors nominated for an Emmy and an Oscar in the same year: this year, that group included Lily Gladstone, Sterling K. Brown, Ryan Gosling, Jodie Foster, and Robert Downey, Jr.
