Drew Barrymore Wears “Big Lebowski” Outfit to Interview Jeff Bridges: 'This Is How I Dress Every Day of My Life'

Jeff Bridges is famously the Dude, but today, so is Drew Barrymore.

The actress, 49, dressed up like Bridges' iconic character from the 1998 movie The Big Lebowskito welcome The Old Man star, 74, to The Drew Barrymore Show on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

She wore a long sweater, sunglasses, slippers and sweatpants for Bridges' appearance and said she often dresses like the Dude at home.

"Do you know what inspired me to dress like this? Not only to pay homage to one of your most — one of the many — most iconic characters that you've played, but this is how I dress every day of my life when I'm not in professional mode," she told him.

"This is your mode," Bridges responded. "I dig your mode."

"The Dude abides," Barrymore joked as the pair had drinks that appeared similar to the movie's famous White Russians for a toast. The appearance also marked a reunion for Barrymore and Bridges after their 1989 movie together, See You in the Morning.

Bridges famously portrayed Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski opposite actors like John Goodman, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Steve Buscemi in The Big Lebowski, a crime comedy movie directed by Joel and Ethan Coen that follows the Dude as he is accidentally drawn into a criminal conspiracy after two assailants mistake him for a different man named Lebowski.

The movie has grown into a cult classic over the years, and Bridges' character grew famous for his laid-back, slacker lifestyle and phrases like "the Dude abides."

During the actor's appearance on Barrymore's show, the pair touched on his memories filming The Big Lebowski and the in-the-works third Tron movie as well as Bridges' two grandchildren, Gracie and Ben, who know their grandfather as the Dude too.

"I wanted them to call me Dude-Pa, but they shortened it to Dudie," he told Barrymore. "I'm just hoping it's Howdie Doodie and not dog doodie," he joked, after Barrymore said she even preferred the "Dudie" nickname. "But I like it."

"There are so many great lines in there," Bridges said of the movie during his appearance, as he and Barrymore reflected on The Big Lebowski. "It's such a good movie."
