Fans Are Worried About 'Reacher' After Paramount News

WITH PARAMOUNT SHUTTING down its TV branch as part of a restructuring plan, many fans of Reacher—which the studio produces for Prime Video—have been left worried about the fate of the hobo/army vet/crime-solving action mystery series.
Reacher is co-produced by Paramount, Amazon and Skydance; now that Paramount TV is shutting down, fans are unsure what to make as far as the future of the show goes.
That said: Season 3 of Reacher has already been ordered. While after-effects of Paramount's TV branch shutting down are sure to be felt, it likely wouldn't be so soon, and even if it was, it wouldn't effect the status of a show as popular as Reacher, which has become one of Prime Video's flagship programs.

Reacher premiered in 2022, and features Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher (a role originated in Lee Child's book series and later played by Tom Cruise in a pair of live-action films). Other members of the cast have included Willa Fitzgerald, Robert Patrick and Kristin Kreuk. The show has found huge success and huger audiences since its debut, and season 2 became one of the streamer's most watched shows to date.
The fact that Reacher has collected such a passionate and devoted fanbase make it hard to believe that any behind-the-scenes issues—including Paramount TV's shutdown—would get in the way of the massive investigator returning.
Will the Paramount TV shutdown affect season 3 of Reacher?
Production of the third season of Reacher has already been underway, as Ritchson posted some BTS pictures and workouts that he was using to prepare for an upcoming episode. The season will be based on the seventh book in the Reacher series, called Persuader. The show has also announced that there will be a new villain, Paulie, who will be played by Olivier Richters—a rare actor even larger than Ritchson himself. Season 3 is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in early 2025.
