Flavor Flav offers to make Jordan Chiles a bronze clock necklace amid Olympic medal controversy: 'I gotchu'

A Saturday ruling declared that the Team USA gymnast would be stripped of her bronze medal.

Flavor Flav is once again proving his dedication to the athletes at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The rapper, 65, who has been very vocal with his support for Team USA, took to social media on Sunday with a very special offer for gymnast Jordan Chiles, after she was stripped of her bronze medal in the gymnastics floor exercise final.

"Ayyy YOOOO @ChilesJordan,” Flavor Flav wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “Imma make you a BRONZE CLOCK NECKLACE,,, and that’s something NO ONE else has!!! Hit me up my girl,,, I gotchu,!!!"

The post was accompanied by a GIF of Flav dancing at the Olympics, while sporting one of his signature clock necklaces.

Chiles, 23, competed in the floor exercise final on Aug. 5 which earned her a bronze medal after USA Gymnastics coach Cecile Landi submitted an inquiry that gave her a 0.1 pt boost. The inquiry successfully showed that Chiles’ difficulty start value was incorrect, changing her score from 13.666 to 13.766 and catapulting her ahead of Romanians, Ana Barbosu and Sabrina Mancea-Voinea.

Following protests from Romanian officials, the Center of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) ruled on Saturday that Chiles’ score should be reverted because her coach missed the deadline to file the inquiry by four seconds. Chiles responded to the news by posting three broken-heart emojis to her Instagram story with a note that she would be taking a break "and removing myself from social media for my mental health.”

Since the ruling, the USA Gymnastics Federation has said they have video evidence proving the inquiry was made within the time limit. The CAS has since passed the final ruling over to the International Gymnastics Federation.

Flavor Flav is no stranger to stepping up for the Team USA athletes. Earlier this month, a representative for the rapper confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that he has paid Olympian Veronica Fraley’s rent in full after the discus thrower shared on X (formerly Twitter) that she was unable to afford the payment.

Prior to that revelation, a press release from USA Water Polo announced that the Flavor of Love star had inked a five-year sponsorship with the Women's and Men's national water polo teams and will not only serve as their official hype man, but made an undisclosed financial contribution to the 2024 USA Women's Water Polo Olympic Team.

"Supporting USA Water Polo teams is an honor," Flavor Flav said in the release. "As a girl dad and a champion of all sports, I'm excited to bring my energy and voice to this incredible sport.”
