As dog owners, we can all admit that we sometimes give in to our pets right? It's hard not to. Especially in their puppy years when they're so small and sweet. One man fully admits to spoiling his German Shepherd Goldie. He even showed a video of the pup talking full advantage of her favorite public fountain.

You can always tell when a dog has their owner totally smitten. It's like they have them on their hook. But we can't really blame the dog dad for this one. Goldie is a cutie, we're sort of obsessed too.

Goldie is such an energetic puppy. At only 6 months old the German Shepherd is bound to get into trouble. So on a hot day in the summer can any of us really fault her for wanting to take a dip in the fountain? In a video her owner shared, it shows the white German Shepherd rolling around in the water without a care in the world.

"I love her to death," the dog dad explained. "She's only 6 months old and this is her favorite watering hole. She comes over here to U of L [University of Louisville] just to mess these people's fountain up," he joked.

Thankfully, it seems like many people in the comments section were willing to keep Goldie's secret. "Seems to me like the college installed a big ole tub just for Goldie," one person joked. "She’s not messing it up! She’s an innovator — it’s now an interactive art installation," another commenter teased. "She’s trying to take the old water out and put new water in. She’s 100 percent a good girl," added another commenter. While another commenter made this hilarious point. "Dogs do stuff like this just to act like they’re going to jail when it’s bath time," they wrote.

Ways to Keep Your Dogs Cool During Summer

Summer can be a tough time for animals, especially dogs with heavy coats. If you don't have air conditioning, you'll want to keep your pet in the coolest parts of your house during the day. You might even want to stay with a friend who has AC if it's really hot.

It's best to keep on hand a battery operated fan, cooling clothes made of chamois, cooling vests, cooling crate pads (or wet towels that dogs can lay on), rubbing alcohol, a spray bottle full of water, or even a bottle of unflavored pediatric electrolyte solution for your dog to drink.

If you see any signs of heat stroke or heat exhaustion, take them to the vet or a cool place immediately. And remember, water is your best friend during the summertime. If you want to visit your local public fountain we won't tell.
