Jennifer Lopez Enjoys Casual Solo Night Out on Ben Affleck's 52nd Birthday

The star was spotted hanging out backstage and in the VIP area as Bruno Mars took the stage at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif.

Jennifer Lopez is having some fun without Ben Affleck.

The Atlas star, 55, stepped out to watch performances by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga and celebrate the opening night of the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., on Thursday, Aug. 15 — which is also Affleck’s 52nd birthday.

Lopez could be seen in a casual ensemble for the event in a white tank top with her hair tied up in a ponytail. She accessorized the look with large gold hoop earrings, a gold bracelet and silver bedazzled necklace that read, "Jennifer." In photos, she could be seen laughing while sitting down and chatting with Ashton Kutcher.

She was also spotted hanging out backstage before the “Leave the Door Open” singer, 38, took the stage and was seen in high spirits in the VIP area of the venue during the show, which saw Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga perform their new duet "Die with a Smile” live.

The Air actor, 52, was notably missing from the event and was not seen with Lopez as she roamed the new event space and chatted with friends.

Earlier in the night, Lopez shared a look at herself in full glam on Instagram. In the photo, she appeared solo in a Dior dress with a sheer wrap design with a black belt tied around the waist that featured silver embellishments in a vertical pattern. She paired the look with a sleek ponytail and silver drop earrings.

This comes amid reports that the couple are experiencing tension in their marriage. Sources previously told PEOPLE in May that Lopez and Affleck’s marriage “is not in the best place at the moment” and they were living separate lives.

On Aug. 6, a source told PEOPLE that Lopez and Affleck hadn't seen each other "in weeks." The insider added, "They’re moving on separately. Jennifer is trying to find a new home to start fresh."

However, the Marry Me actress did stop by Affleck’s rental home in Brentwood, Calif., on Sunday, Aug. 11, while he was there ahead of his birthday, a source said. She was also spotted accompanying his son Samuel, 12, to the mall on the same day.

Lopez, who shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony, is eager to spend time with Affleck's kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel (whom he shares with ex-wife Jennifer Garner) before school begins.

"Just because she's not with Ben doesn't mean that she doesn't care about his kids," the source said.

"She always cared about them,” the source continued. “She spent months looking for the perfect house for their blended family last year. Now when she's back in L.A. she wants to spend quality time with them before school resumes and Violet is off to college."

As for Affleck, an insider told PEOPLE earlier this month that he is "doing well" and "thrives when he’s busy, and he’s been working nonstop."

"The kids are still off from school. He spends a lot of time with them too," said the insider, adding, "It hasn’t been the easiest summer for him either. He’s just trying to stay focused and make every day as good as possible."
