John Legend Shares Adorable Pictures of Son Miles and Daughter Luna on First Day of School: '1st and 3rd Graders'

The EGOT winner shares his four kids — Luna, Miles, Esti and Wren — with wife Chrissy Teigen

John Legend's kids are heading back to the classroom!

On Wednesday, Sept. 4, the singer, 45, shared a few photos on Instagram as his daughter Luna, 8, and son Miles, 6, celebrated their first day of 3rd and 1st grade, respectively. Both kids could be seen holding up a chalkboard sign that read their age and the grade they were going into as they posed outside.

Miles could be seen wearing blue jeans and a light gray top, holding his sign and smiling. Luna opted for denim shorts and a white top, pairing her outfit with sparkly sneakers. "First day of school for the 1st and 3rd graders," Legend captioned his post.

Speaking to PEOPLE for this week's issue, the musician revealed which of his four children prefer his wife Teigen over him.

"Chrissy's everyone's favorite I think, except I might have Esti," Legend told PEOPLE. "I think because she's at this space where she sees me leave now, and when I come back home, she's super clingy and she literally just wants to hug my leg and make sure I don't leave her."

"So I think because I leave more, she's more attached to me when I come home," he said, teasing, "I have one out of four."

However, Legend noted that even his younger daughter can't charm her way into her parents' bedroom anymore.

"I started locking the door," he said of recently putting up boundaries with his brood. "Their big thing is they want to knock on our door and come sleep with us. I'm like, 'Y'all are not coming in our bed every time you have a little disturbance. Go back to sleep.'"

In August, Legend shared that he'd recently added a new tattoo to his body after he and Teigen welcomed their younger kids, Esti and Wren.

"I don’t have much ink on my body," the dad of four admitted, adding, "My first tattoo was 'chrissylunamiles' in a subtle heart-monitor-like cursive on my right arm to honor my growing family. So I asked @winterstone to come back and mirror it with the new babies."

He continued, "Presenting 'chrissyestiwren' for the left arm. If you zoom/squint/get reading glasses you can see it 😂."

Despite his heartfelt statement, Teigen hilariously joked back at her husband in the comments.

"Wait TWO CHRISSYS!!!!!! 😭😭😭," she cheekily wrote under the snaps of Legend.
