King Charles Was Just Photographed with Ukraine’s President Zelensky—and I Noticed Something Striking About Each Picture

First, I immediately noticed something about Kate Middleton’s smile in a series of photos shared by Kensington Palace this week. Now, I have to discuss the striking similarities within the various pictures taken of King Charles and Ukraine’s President Zelensky at a recent event.

Just in case you missed it, the 75-year-old monarch (who is still undergoing treatment for cancer) attended the European Political Community reception held at Blenheim Palace in Woodstock, England, on July 18. According to Express, a total of 46 European leaders were in attendance to discuss a range of international challenges, opportunities and more. And one of the guests was none other than President Zelensky.

Photos of King Charles talking to President Zelensky were taken at the event. After looking over the pictures, I quickly noticed a striking similarity in each one: The two can’t seem to stop smiling and laughing like they are longtime BFFs.

One photo shows King Charles shaking President Zelensky’s hand with a smile on his face. As the Ukraine president returns the gesture, he continues to smile widely at the king, who starts to turn red, appearing a bit flush.

And I can't forget about this one, where King Charles and President Zelensky can’t stop laughing. (I want to be in on the joke…)

The two felt so comfortable with each other that President Zelensky gave the king a friendly pat on the back like they were old chums.

Finally, I’ll end off with this one: President Zelensky appears as if he is trying to hold in his laughter while King Charles continues to smile from ear to ear.

Oh, how I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during their conversation.
