It’s always a good day when Lady Gaga steps onto a red carpet.

On Monday, the superstar arrived at Hollywood’s TCL Chinese Theatre for the Los Angeles premiere of Joker: Folie à Deux. In the film, Gaga takes on the role of comic-book antihero Harley Quinn, a psychiatrist-turned-love-interest for Gotham City’s most notorious villain. And with her press tour wardrobe so far, Gaga is making villainy look wickedly good.

At the premiere, she wore a timeless black column gown from Celine, featuring a high neck and voluptuous balloon sleeves that cascaded into a mini cape behind her back. To accessorize, she opted from jewelry from Tiffany & Co., including the brand’s impressive Vigne necklace—a floral gold twine collar boasting over 300 carats of oval rubellites. As for Gaga’s shoes, the singer went with her signature pleasers, selecting a glossy black pair with towering stiletto heels.

Gaga opened up about how she transformed herself into Harley Quinn during an interview with E! News last month. “I allowed myself, once I found her voice, to make her whatever I wanted at any given moment—whatever the scene or the moment called for,” she told the outlet. “I allowed it all to become available to me once I really honed in on trying to sing as her without technique, without the right breathing, just really naked and bare. At first, it was really scary and it felt really unnatural, but then it felt completely natural for her. That was exciting. I remember when I first saw it back on camera, and I felt like, ‘Okay, I think I found something authentic.’ ”
