Our newest favorite cat mom is the outrageously gorgeous and talented movie star Lupita Nyong'o. Nyong'o stars in the summer blockbuster A Quiet Place: Day One and her co-star in the movie is an adorable cat named Frodo. Before filming the movie, Nyong'o admitted she had a horrible fear of cats and begged the movie's director, Michael Sarnoski to change the role of the cat to a different animal.

By the end of filming, Nyong'o enjoyed working with 'Frodo' so much she adopted a cat of her own and shared an adorable video to Instagram of her favorites memories (so far) with her beautiful orange cat named YoYo.

Nyong'o captioned the video, "It’s #NationalKittenDay which means it’s time to celebrate one of the sweetest loves of my life, Yoyo! 😻 Even though he’s not a kitten anymore, he will always be my baby boy! #YOYOYYO #CatMom"

Just watching her interact and cuddle with her cat is so touching. You can tell YoYo just has the best cat mama. Back before Nyong'o adopted her cat she had this to say.

Deadline reports, "I’ve been terrified of cats my entire life,” Nyong’o said in an interview last week with “CBS Mornings.”

“I wouldn’t be in a room with a cat, I would cry … I just found them suspicious, you know? They’re like little lions, and like, if they were any bigger, they would eat us.”

The article states that Nyong'o used exposure therapy, which involves releasing cats in her presence at her home to get over her fear. This must have worked because after shooting wrapped Nyong's adopted her own cat named YoYo through the Best Friends Animal Society.

People in the comments are applauding this sweet friendship, and one person said, "Laying on the ground to hang out with your cat is peak cat parent behavior." Another added, "He is so handsome! I love the story of your transformation into a cat mom." Someone else hilariously replied, "going from "I fear cats" to getting a cat is wild af." Someone else said, "This is my favorite internet couple!! What a lucky lucky boy!"

I agree, it's just so touching seeing how much she loves YoYo.

The Quiet Place: Day One Cats

Two cats play Frodo in A Quiet Place: Day One and they are named Schnitzel and Nico. Cinemablend says that the director of the movie, Michael Sarnoski, said, in part, about directing Schnitzel, "He seemed wise. He seemed older than his years. He seemed very astute and sharp, but also kind of aloof in his own way. He seemed like he had an inner world going on. I kind of bought him as a New York Street cat. They trained those cats for months beforehand, putting them in pools, getting them used to water, getting them used to being carried in a bag, walking on a leash, all of that stuff."

To me Nyong'o and Frodo were the best parts of the movie! Congratulations to Lupita for getting over her fear of cats and giving YoYo the best forever home.
