Months after her divorce from Ryan Hurd, it appears that singer Maren Morris is starting over with someone new.

A source recently told People that Morris is dating Netflix reality star Justin Assada, known to audiences from his appearances on the competition series Surviving Paradise in 2023 and the dating show Perfect Match earlier this summer.

Assada kicked off the rumors about his involvement with Morris on Wednesday, Aug. 28, when he shared a photo via his Instagram Story of the singer sitting across from him at a restaurant, sipping a drink through a straw.

“Scary movies + Sushi 😫,” he captioned the post.

Earlier this summer, Morris—who has always been an outspoken supporter of the LGBTQ+ community–came out as bisexual in an Instagram post.

"PHOENIX, AZ. happy to be the B in LGBTQ+. happy pride 🌈," she captioned a series of photos, including images of her onstage waving a rainbow flag.

In August, Morris—who shares a 4-year-old son, Hayes, with Hurd—told People that while she’s been “enjoying dating for the first time” in her life, she would only consider starting a relationship with “a spectacularly impressive individual."

"I love my career, I love my baby, I love my home, I love my friends,” she said. “Those are all things that matter to me, and those are self-made. I only will allow someone to come into my life if they amplify any of it. They can't be a net negative. They can't drain my resources, and I mean that in every sense of the word. Financially, emotionally, spiritually. You truly have to have your s--t together to be any part of my life at this point.”
