Mark-Paul Gosselaar Flips the Script and Takes Control in “Found” Season 2: See the Chilling Trailer (Exclusive)

PEOPLE can exclusively premiere the trailer for season 2 of the NBC drama, which stars Shanola Hampton and Gosselaar as her former kidnapper

The world has been flipped on its head for Gabi Mosely in an all-new season of Found.

PEOPLE can exclusively premiere the trailer for season 2 of the chilling NBC series, that sees Shanola Hampton's Gabi see her worst nightmare come to fruition.

As the trailer begins, Gabi reveals her harrowing backstory to her colleague, Detective Mark Trent (Brett Dalton): Gabi and Lacey (Gabrielle Walsh) were kidnapped by a man they call Sir (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) when they were children. They managed to escape, and Gabi later avenged Sir, as she "kept him prisoner in my basement."

Now, Sir has "escaped" from Gabi's clutches — and he's taken from her one of the most important people in her life.

"He took my sister as payback for what I have been doing for the last nine months," Gabi tells Mark in the trailer.

Gabi's strategy to Lacey is to take on a "new case" to "draw [Sir's] attention," but time is passing, and her worries are growing by the day.

Sir continues taunting Gabi, as he tells her in the trailer, "It's been a long time without a chain between us. How does it feel to be free? In the open? And yet still connected."

While she threatens that she will take Sir's "life" if he hurts Lacey, he weaponizes their past agreement. "I'm the reason you solved your cases," he tells her, referring to the fact that in season 1, while he was held captive by Gabi, he helped her understand kidnapping cases — and solve them.

"We are indeed partners. The universe will continue to propel us back to each other time and again," Sir tells Gabi.

"When I took you all those years ago, I thought I was saving you," he continues. "It was has to be different this time. This time, it has to be your choice."

While Sir remains scarily confident that he'll be able to keep Lacey from Gabi, memories of her childhood — and her time being held captive by Sir with her — flash on the screen, as well as the promise Gabi once made to Lacey: "I will always protect you."

Found tells the fictionalized story of one of the more than 600,000 people who are reported missing in the U.S. each year in Gabi's story.

Gabi and her crisis management team make sure there is always someone looking out for the missing, as it's a cause that's dear to her given her "chilling secret" about her own past. In season 2, Gabi's "biggest secret is now her biggest threat," per the official synopsis.
