If you know and love Abbott Elementary, then you also probably know and love Quinta Brunson. With the growing success of her ABC mockumentary sitcom (its fourth season premieres in October), Brunson is on track to becoming a Hollywood heavyweight (and she has the Emmys to back it up). Still, even as she rises in fame, the writer and actor is still sure to keep the more intimate details of her life out of the spotlight.
Take, for instance, her husband, Kevin Jay Anik. Not much is known about Anik, who doesn't seem to maintain a public social media presence and who very rarely accompanies Brunson on the red carpet. What we do know is that the couple have been together for at least four years and that Anik is hugely supportive of Brunson's career.

They met through a mutual friend.
Brunson met her husband-to-be at a mutual friend's birthday party, she revealed in her 2022 memoir, She Memes Well.
Although she never disclosed when the two first started dating, the comedian announced their engagement with an Instagram post back in July 2020. The post, featuring a selfie with her brand new engagement ring, included a subtle caption that hinted, “More good news.”
They have only attended a handful of public events together.
Anik has joined his wife on the red carpet for only a handful of occasions. Among these are high-profile events like the 2022 Emmys and the 2022 Time100 Gala.
Jay is “the most supportive man” Quinta has ever known.
Brunson expressed her gratitude for Anik during her acceptance speech at the 2022 Emmy awards ceremony.
“In case I am not back up here again, I have to thank my mom, dad, brothers and sisters, my cousins,” she began, before adding, “my wonderful husband because he's the most supportive man I've ever known.”
In 2024, Brunson again referenced Anik while accepting the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a comedy. “I love my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brothers, my entire family so much,” she said. “I love my husband. I'm so happy. I love my cast. Oh, I love Abbott Elementary. Thank you so much.”
Brunson previously gushed over Anik during a 2023 interview with Entertainment Tonight. “I mean, a partner during all of this, you can't buy that kind of support,” she told the outlet. “Someone willing to go through what it takes to make Abbott and be a part of Abbott, it's priceless. I don't know what to say. I'm so grateful.”
