Netflix’s New #1 Show Is a Mind-Bending Thrill-Ride—and It’s Got 4 Full Seasons for You to Binge

Love comic books and superheroes? Then, I have the perfect show for you to watch—and it just so happens to be sitting at the number one spot on Netflix’s top ten shows list right now.

The Umbrella Academy, which is based on a comic book series written by My Chemical Romance lead singer Gerard Way, just returned for its fourth and final season. According to the official logline for season four, it reads: “Reunited by their father's death, estranged siblings with extraordinary powers uncover shocking family secrets—and a looming threat to humanity.”

Season four of The Umbrella Academy features a bunch of familiar faces that have been a part of the story since the very beginning, including Elliot Page as Viktor Hargreeves, Tom Hopper as Luther Hargreeves, David Castañeda as Diego Hargreeves, Emmy Raver-Lampman as Allison Hargreeves, Robert Sheehan as Klaus Hargreeves, Aidan Gallagher as Number Five and Justin H. Min as Ben Hargreeves. Oh, and did I mention that Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and David Cross also make cameos in the final season as well?

At the end of season three, the Hargreeves siblings return to the year 2019, when they first met. But, they no longer have their powers. And according to The Umbrella Academy showrunner, Steve Blackman, that’s not the only obstacle the siblings will have to face in the fourth season.

Back in August 2022, Blackman sat down with Netflix’s TUDUM and teased what’s in store for the siblings in the final installment. Without giving too much away, he revealed, “The siblings losing their powers isn't going to be the only oddity in this timeline. There are new enemies who want to see them wiped out of existence, but how do they manage without their powers? Is there even a way to get them back? The stakes have never been greater.”
