It happens to the best of us, sometimes we end up eating junk food for a meal because we don't have anything else to eat, because it's convenient, or simply because that's what we feel like eating. A dog mom caught her Newfoundland eating what she refers to as the 'Breakfast of Champions' and it's so relatable! She shared the video on Tuesday, June 18th, and it's cracking people up.

The video is only about 10 seconds long and shows her big, brown Newfie sitting out in the grass enjoying the sun. In his mouth is an entire can of Pringles...it's what's for breakfast! The goofy Newfie is just looking around enjoying the sunshine. I wonder if he ate all of the chips or if he even opened the can.

This video cracked me up! The look on his face is too cute - he's so satisfied with himself! In response to one commenter, My Brown Newfies said, "He loves to use that big mouth of his! LOL!" @Andrew laughed and said, "Ha ha so true I love them so much!" to which the Newfie's mom replied, "Pringles or Newfies?!" @ODIN shared, "I love this series." The Newfie's mom responded with, "Thank you! He steals something every single day so might as well make videos!"

Do Newfoundlands Make Good Pets?

It's clear that Newfoundlands are huge dogs, but they're also referred to as gentle giants. The AKC Standard describes them this way, "Sweetness of temperament is the hallmark of the Newfoundland." Males can stand up to 28 inches tall and weigh between 130 and 150 pounds, but some can weigh up to 200 pounds or more! Females stand up to 26 tall and weigh between 100 and 120 pounds. These gentle giants are known for their patient temperaments and patience with children as well.

Newfoundlands, or Newfies as their humans lovingly refer to them are not only big, but they've got a ton of fur. They have a large, heavy double cut with a long outer coat and shorter undercoat. And yes, they shed a lot. While they are considered like many breeds to be seasonal shedders, they shed daily, and you'll be vacuuming every day. They are a working breed, so daily walks and room to roam are a must. They love water and so a pool, lake, or pond in a non-humid climate is ideal. They also pant and drool. Their large jowls and loose lips allow for saliva to fill up and spill over. They drink a lot of water and enjoy putting their entire head into their water bucket. They're messy dogs!

These dogs get along with everybody, including other pets. Socialization and training are important since they tend to be a bit stubborn. As with any pet, make sure you do your research before bringing them home to ensure that your family and the dog are a good match.
