Nicole Kidman knows how to keep a low profile when she travels.

The A Family Affair star, 57, detailed how she was able to fly under the radar while visiting Fire Island during a September 2024 cover interview forL'Officiel USA.

Kidman explained how the Long Island, N.Y., hotspot, which inspired the 2022 rom-com of the same name, is known for its “wild parties” and happening boulevard.

The actress noted that she visited the island to attend a Fourth of July party and “got a lot of love” during her trip. She said she could fully enjoy the destination thanks to her clever disguise.

“I wore a hat,” she shared.

Kidman also opened up to the outlet about her love of travel and how she’s passed that on to her kids. She shares two children, Bella and Connor, with ex Tom Cruise, and two daughters, Sunday and Faith, with husband Keith Urban.

“My kids are willing to travel… maybe less so now [that they’re older], but they're very interested in the world, too. They say they've got so many stamps on their passport, more than most people that are in their eighties,” says Kidman.

She credited her work as a big reason why her kids’ passports are filled with stamps from “all over” the world, as she is “willing” to travel far for her films. Her kids have lived in places like “Morocco, France, Australia, England, Scotland, Ireland, Vietnam, Hong Kong,” she said.

The Big Little Lies star added how important travel is for her as it’s part of her “global education.”

“It’s given me an empathetic heart and a way into people's lives that I never would have been exposed to [otherwise],” she told the outlet. “I don't think existing only in your own territory is good.”

She continued, “Always reaching out to understand, learn, and see different perspectives is how I was raised. That's probably why I travel. It gives me a greater understanding of how people view their country in relation to the world.”

Kidman is gearing up for the premiere of her upcoming film, A24’s Babygirl, in December. In the erotic drama, the actress portrays a business executive who has an affair with her intern.

She opened up about the challenging role and how it left her “ragged” while speaking withVanity Fair earlier in August.

"At some point I was like, I don’t want to be touched. I don’t want to do this anymore, but at the same time I was compelled to do it,” she said. "I’ve made some films that are pretty exposing, but not like this.”
