A Georgia teenager was found dead in the woods after disappearing from her home with someone — and her family and police don't know who that person was.

Mia Campos, 16, who was pregnant at the time of her killing,,left her Loganville, Ga., home in the evening on Sunday, July 14, with “an unknown person,” the Gwinnett County Police said in a statement.

Hours later, early on the morning of July 15, Gwinnett police responded to a report that her body had been found “in a wooded area just off the roadway,” police said in their statement.

Her family told authorities that when they couldn’t find her after she left home, they used a cell phone app to locate her body.

A medical examiner determined her manner of death was homicide, per police.

On Wednesday, authorities arrested Campos’ ex-boyfriend Jesus Monroy, for allegedly "giving false statements to a police officer," police said in their statement. Monroy has not been accused by police of killing Campos.

Monroy allegedly gave “false statements” to investigators during an interview, Sgt. Collin Flynn said, per FOX 5 Atlanta.

Campos’ family says Monroy was the father of the unborn child Campos was carrying, Atlanta News First reports.

It's not immediately clear if Monroy has entered a plea or retained an attorney to speak on his behalf.

Campos’ mother, Miriam Zarate, says she found her daughter just minutes away from their home, per 11 Alive. When they located her, Zarate says, her body was swollen, cold and purple, and her hand was on her belly.

“I found my daughter laid face-down,” the victim’s father Edward Campos said, per Atlanta News First.

“It was hard. I knew it was something wrong – her lips, her bleeding nose,” he said.
