Princess Kate is heading back to work.

For the first time since announcing earlier this month that she had completed chemotherapy treatment and is now cancer-free, the Princess of Wales quietly returned to her royal line of work on Tuesday. She held a meeting with team members from Kensington Palace and the Centre for Early Childhood at Windsor Castle.

The Telegraph reported that the Court Circular, the official record that documents the royal family’s activities, noted Kate’s stealthy meeting: “The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales, this afternoon held an Early Years Meeting at Windsor Castle.”

This is the first meeting on record since Kate first announced in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

The princess recently confirmed that she had finished her chemotherapy in a moving video shared to social media on September 9.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she said in a voiceover, which played over rare at-home footage of herself, husband Prince William, and their three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant, and we’ve had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown.”

The video also hinted at Kate’s excitement for getting back to work. “Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” she said. “I am, however, looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can.”

During her treatment, Kate made only two official public appearances: the first was to celebrate Trooping the Colour in June for King Charles’s birthday, and the second to attend the Wimbledon championships in July.
