Royal style sometimes gets a bad rap for being stuffy and antiquated. From fussy fascinators to strict fashion rules, women who are born or marry into royalty are often expected to follow sartorial precedent. But, there’s one royal woman who is blazing her own path for what it means to dress like a queen. Enter: Queen Letizia of Spain.
During a recent visit to the opening of a vocational school in Castro-Urdiales, the former-news-anchor-turned-queen-consort turned royal style on its head by wearing an unexpected trend.
At first glance, her top—a $140 blouse from Mango—may seem like your average business-casual attire, with its prim collars and blue and white pinstriped pattern. But, the blouse quickly calls attention to the neckline, which features two uniform cutouts flanking down the line of buttons and revealing a glimpse of her décolletage.
Skin-baring cutouts are certainly an unconventional trend for royal fashion, but Letizia made it work with other elements of her outfit. This included a pair of black cigarette trousers and strappy black leather sandals with a block heel from Hugo Boss. She kept her accessories to a minimum, opting for small diamond-encrusted stud earrings.
While Letizia's exact blouse is now sold out, Bazaar rounded up similar styles below that you can shop right now.

This is far from the first time that Letizia has turned royal style on its head. Back in July, she attended the 14th Atlàntida Mallorca Film Fest while wearing a slinky metallic slipdress, which she expertly paired with coordinating silver heels, a disco clutch bag, and interlocking diamond-shaped earrings.
