Rumer Willis Shares Rare Health Update on Dad Bruce Amid Dementia Battle

Rumer Willis recently offered a rare health update on her father, Bruce Willis, amid his battle with frontotemporal dementia (FTD).

On Aug. 22, the eldest daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore took to her Instagram Story to participate in a Q&A session with fans.

“He is great. I love him so much. Thank you,” Rumer, 36, wrote alongside a photo of herself and the Sixth Sense actor, per Us Weekly.

Bruce, 69, was diagnosed with aphasia in the spring of 2022 and by February 2023, his family revealed he had frontotemporal dementia (FTD). Since then, family members have offered periodic updates on his health.

In May, Rumer told People that her dad was "doing really good" at the premiere of her film My Divorce Party. "I got to go over there with [daughter] Louetta today."

She also opened up to Fox News about how Bruce's health diagnosis impacted their family at the red-carpet event

"I think, for me, through this experience, what’s been so incredible is my dad is so beloved, and that’s been so evident in the transparency with which we’ve been sharing," she explained.

Rumer added, "I think if there’s any way sharing our experience brings hope—whatever comes forward as a family—that can have an effect and bring any sort of hope, comfort to someone else experiencing that, then to me, that’s…everything."

In addition to Rumer, Bruce and Moore share two other daughters, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30. The Armageddon actor and his wife, Emma Hemming Willis, 46, also share two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.
