‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Star Jessi Ngatikaura Says Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen Are “Struggling”

In today’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives news (dw, we know you’ve also been in desperate need of a debrief), series star Jessi Ngatikaura is updating fans on fellow MomTok member Taylor Frankie Paul’s relationship with Dakota Mortensen amid breakup rumors.
The hairdresser stopped by Vanderpump Rules’ Scheana Shay’s podcast, Scheananigans, during the fellow reality star’s September 27 episode to chat, and shared that she and her husband have kept in touch with Taylor and Dakota amid their relationship struggles.
“I’ve talked to her [and my husband] Jordan’s talked to Dakota a little bit. I don’t want to speak for her, but I know they’re struggling a little bit right now,” Jessi confessed to Scheana before adding, “I think they’re both amazing people. I just think that maybe there’s so much trauma between both of them with their past and their relationship that they need a little time to breathe.”
The Hulu star then pointed out that the hugely popular series seemed to have “put a magnifying glass on their relationship.” Oh, and despite not “really [knowing] where they’re at in this moment,” Jessi ended the interview by noting, “I know that I’m just giving her my love and support. All of us girls have rallied around her, and I hope that she can feel that.”
A reminder that fans of the show have seen the couple, who share a child together, attempt to navigate their trust issues throughout season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which began filming shortly before February 2024. Since the series fully dropped on Hulu, people have been curious about the exact status of Taylor and Dakota’s ‘ship, likely due to the duo recently hinting at a break.
According to a report by Us Weekly, the two seemingly hit a rough patch in their relationship. “I would say we’re working on things, and I actually have no idea where it goes with us from here,” Taylor revealed to the outlet. “We are not fully together, but not fully done. I don’t know what the future holds with him and I.”
The reality star then added that she’s “heartbroken” about the sitch, explaining, “It’s just a lot. I’m trying to cope.”
