Yields: 2 servings

Prep Time: 5 mins

Total Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2

    black tea bags

  • 2 oz.

    whiskey

  • 1/2 c.

    plus 2 Tbsp. whole milk

  • 1/4 c.

    pumpkin puree

  • 1/4 c.

    pure maple syrup

  • 1/8 tsp.

    ground cardamom

  • 1/8 tsp.

pumpkin pie spice, plus more for serving

  • Whipped cream, for topping

Directions

  1. Place each tea bag in a mug. Bring a kettle with at least 10 oz. (1 1/4 c.) water to a boil. Pour 1/4 c. boiling water into each mug. Let steep 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and pour 1 oz. whiskey into each mug.

  2. Meanwhile, in a measuring cup or bowl with a spout, whisk milk, pumpkin puree, syrup, cardamom, and pumpkin pie spice until smooth.

To Use A Frother

  1. In a medium heatproof bowl, microwave pumpkin milk mixture in 20-second increments, stirring between each, until temperature reaches 140°, about 2 minutes total.

  2. Working in batches, pour mixture into a frothing pitcher. Insert frother about three-quarters of the way to the bottom and froth until foamy and and thick. Pour into mug; spooning remaining foam on top. Sprinkle lattes with pumpkin pie spice. Garnish with whipped cream.

To Use An Espresso Machine

  1. Working in batches, pour pumpkin milk into frothing pitcher, tilt pitcher slightly, and insert steam nozzle into pitcher, just below surface of milk. Open steam valve and heat pumpkin milk mixture, creating some small foamy bubbles, until pitcher is hot to the touch, 20 to 30 seconds.

  2. Pour into mug with tea, spooning any remaining foam on top. Sprinkle lattes with pumpkin pie spice. Garnish with whipped cream.
