Taylor Swift Fans Get Free Necklaces from Vienna Swarovski Store After Shows Canceled Due to Alleged Terror Plot

Swift canceled the shows scheduled for Aug. 8-10

After Taylor Swiftcanceled her three Vienna Eras Tour concerts this week, due to an alleged terror plot, many fans in the Austrian city still decided to gather to support each other and explore Vienna.

The Vienna Tourist Board on Instagram has been sharing all the ways fans can enjoy the city, including a number of free activities or discounted entries specifically designed for Swifties in light of the canceled shows.

One such invitation for fans was for them to show up to show up to the Kristallwelten Swarovski store for a "crystal surprise."

As some fans showed on TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), the unique gift — which fans were able to claim after showing their ticket to one of the canceled shows — was a necklace from the brand with a variety of different crystal charms, tucked into a bag.

The Vienna Tourist Board noted on Aug. 9 that "due to overwhelming demand," the store did run out of the necklaces but still wanted fans to come in for a special discount.

Other locations in the city were offering free or discounted food, free museum entry or specially themed attractions for fans.

On Aug. 8, fans gathered in the streets for an impromptu dance party and concert of their own, where they traded friendship bracelets, sang Swift's songs and kept each other company in what's been an otherwise scary time.

Swift's concerts at Ernst Happel Stadium were canceled on Aug. 7, when the promoter posted a message to Instagram that read, in part, "With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety."

Since then, three teenage suspects have been taken into custody. NBC News, the AP and CNN previously reported that Austrian authorities believe the first suspect arrested, a 19-year-old Austrian arrested on Aug. 7, had planned “to carry out an attack” with “explosives and knives” at Swift’s concert.

The second suspect is a 17-year-old Austrian, also arrested on Aug. 7, and the third suspect is an 18-year-old Iraqi, who was arrested on Aug. 9.

Swift's next set of Eras Tour concerts are still scheduled in London from Aug. 15-20.
