I Tried Paige Lorenze's American Charm Brand: Here's My Honest Thoughts

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."

Frilly florals and girly gingham currently cover the homepage of dairyboy.com. The brand known for selling Americana inspired pieces like trucker hats, sweatshirts, and candles is dipping into a whole new world. Paige Lorenze, the brand's founder and the internet's it-girl, just launched American Charm — a home brand by Dairy Boy.

"At my core, I am a homemaker," Paige explained in a statement. "I love to cook, I love to decorate, and I essentially love to make places feel like home. American Charm marks a new chapter for Dairy Boy and opportunity for us to expand into a market I am extremely passionate about."

But the new brand needs no explanation. To those who follow along with Paige and Dairy Boy, homeware feels like the perfect move. Fans of her Instagram and YouTube channel constantly see dreamy clips of horse pastures, Paige cooking in her kitchen, and lounging around her quaint Connecticut cottage. Which is why it makes sense that the first collection from American Charm is something so cozy, like bedding.

Gingham duvets and sheets sprinkled with blush and blue florals were the first pieces to go on sale in mid-July. Though it all feels new to consumers, this collection has been a long time coming for Paige and the rest of her team.

"Some of the pieces have been in the works for over 2 years!," she told Country Living. "The sheets themselves have been being sampled for 2 years and we’ve been sampling the duvet for 8 months. When it comes to bedding, I love fabrics to be as soft and luxurious as possible. Your bed should be the coziest place in your home and the quality and look of bedding is what ties a bedroom together."

I received a couple of pieces from the collection myself to see if they're as cozy as they look. Since the sheets are made from 100% jersey cotton, they have a softer, stretchy feel to them, almost like a worn in t-shirt. However, they still have some of that that crisp cotton texture. I was nervous about using them in the August heat, but so far they're cooler than I expected. On the other hand, the gingham pieces are made from 100% woven cotton which can often feel almost scratchy at first. These do have a crisp, scratchy feel to them, but after a few nights sleeping on them, they seem to get softer with use.

The big test is how they wash. After a couple of sleeps, I followed the washing instructions on the label, machine wash cold, then tumble-dry on low, and was really happy with how they came out. Everything was noticeably softer, but nothing felt like it was lacking or fading after going through a wash cycle. And when it comes to putting them back on the bed, the fitted sheet has small labels inside, marking the top and bottom of the sheet, so it's very easy to put on! As for pricing, the sheet and duvet sets start at $88 and go up to $128. Or, you can buy single items and mix and match all of the patterns. Depending on the bedding you're used to, this price may seem low or high. For the look, style, and feel of the sheets, I find it to be a pretty average price point on the market right now.

It gives off old-money style, but at a more attainable cost.

And people are buying them, with some pieces already selling out. If you didn't already know, Paige is a bit of a trend setter. But she's rarely bringing something new to popularity, it's more like bringing back pieces we've all known and loved at some point in our lives. She often talks about creating a space and products that feel nostalgic and homey to her, encouraging her audience to do the same.

I talked with Paige about creating that kind of space in her own life and her business to see how she pulls it off so well.

"I undoubtedly feel most like myself when I’m in Connecticut" she explained. "I’ve tried to emulate the things I love most about nature, Connecticut, and Vermont in my own home; whether it be the wood beams on my ceiling and the real fire place in my living room, or the cozy nooks throughout the rooms with candles, and warm colors that emulate the very nature of where I grew up."

Emulate the things you love, that's what Paige has built an entire brand on, and people connect with it.

Bedding isn't the only thing coming though. Dairy Boy has already been selling popular candles, lounge sets, and recently glass tumblers that sold out before many people could get their hands on them. As she leans into homeware, she teased about much more to come.

Last fall, Paige hosted a Dairy Boy pop-up shop in New York City that garnered a line wrapped around the block. Not only could fans shop the brand in person, many of them also got to talk with Paige herself as she was seen carrying in jeans and checking on inventory.

This year, the pop-up is happening August 23-25 and is expected to be even bigger with new home items in the mix.

"I can’t give too many spoilers," she told me. "We have a LOT of home products, clothing, and lifestyle products that we’ll be launching. Some will even be exclusive to only the pop-up."

One thing that is for sure? Products launched by Paige and Dairy Boy often sell out. So if you're interested, act fast. And if you can't make it to the pop-up, I've included more pieces from the collection that you can shop below.

To those who follow along with Paige and Dairy Boy, homeware makes total sense. Fans of her YouTube channel constantly see dreamy clips of horse pastures, trips to the market, cooking sessions, and cozy shots of her Connecticut cottage. There's something about her videos and her brand that feel cozy and calming.

Which is why it makes sense that the first collection from American Charm is bedding.

Gingham duvets and sheets sprinkled with blush and blue florals were the first pieces to go on sale in mid-July. Though it all feels new to consumers, this collection has been a long time coming for Paige and her DB Team.

The pieces are cute, too. The sheet sets are off-white with dainty flowers on them either in a pale pink blush or light blue hues. There are plenty of sizes to fit most mattresses, including TWIN XL for dorm room beds. The florals feel very vintage countryside while the gingham duvet cover and pillow shams are nostalgic and proper.

Made from 100% Jersey Cotton, the sheets and pillowcases have a classic feel that wash well. Meanwhile, the gingham pieces are made form 100% woven cotton. And as for pricing, you can get a full sheet or duvet set for $88. Or, you can by single items and mix and match patterns for less.

And people are already buying them. You see, Paige is a bit of a trend setter, but not necessarily in a "I saw Cady Heron wearing army pants and flip flops. So I bought army pants and flip flops," kind of way. More of a, "Paige Lorenze decorates with pieces that feel comforting and nostalgic, so I decorate with pieces that feel comforting and nostalgic."

Emulate the things you love, that's what Paige has based an entire brand off of, and people connect with it.

Bedding isn't the only thing coming though. Dairy Boy has already been selling popular candles, lounge sets, and recently glass tumblers that sold out before many people could get their hands on them. As she leans into homeware, she teased about much more to come.
