Tuxedo Cat Sees Sheep for the First Time and His Face Says It All

Many pet parents take their dogs on daily walks, and some cat parents do, too. Anton is a tuxedo cat who walks on a leash occasionally, and recently, he ran across some animals he'd never seen before, and his reaction will crack you up!

Anton's humans posted a video on Tuesday, September 10th of Anton encountering sheep for the first time. He's not sure what they are, and even stands up to get a better look. Watch on to see the look on his face, I couldn't quit laughing at his reaction!

I'll admit I've probably watched Anton's video at least 5 times...it gets funnier every time I watch! Although the video's only been posted a day or two, it already has a million views and hundreds of comments. People can't get over the look on Anton's face when he sees the sheep! @susanquilts2 said what I was thinking, "I love when kitties do their meercat impressions!" @SkyLendNight said what Anton was thinking, "Pick me up mom, let me closer look. . ." and @Anton's mom replied, "Yes had to pick him up a little too so he could get a better look LOL!" Commenter @GlenD wondered, "How does he keep his white shoes so crisp?!" I'm guessing Anton must be an indoor cat because those white 'shoes' are really white! I can't even keep mine that white!

Facts About Tuxedo Cats

Contrary to popular belief, a 'Tuxedo' cat isn't the name of an actual breed, rather, it's a name that describes the two-color unique coat patterning of certain cats. Tuxedo cats are gorgeous cats with bicolored or piebald cats with two distinct coat colors, and they aren't always black and white; they can also be gray, orange, tortoiseshell, and even silver and white. Of course, the name comes from the fact that they look like their dressed to the nines in a tuxedo, which of course gives them a sophisticated appearance.

Another Pet Helpful article shares all of the different breeds that this unique two-colored coat can be found in:

  • Maine Coons - Longhair and one of the largest and oldest Northern American Breed.

  • British Shorthair - Has an antithetically stocky body with a dense coat but has no undercoat.

  • Turkish Angora - Longhair cat with a silky, soft coat is one of the ancient, natural breeds.

  • Scottish Fold - A short hair, medium size cat with ears that bend forward with a round body.

  • Manx - Shorthair, Longhair varieties. A tailless cat with elongated hind legs and a rounded head.

  • Persian - A purebred domestic cat remarkably like the Exotic Shorthair

  • American Curl - Available in longhair or Shorthair, with curled back ears, no undercoat, and minimal shedding.

  • Exotic Shorthair - The shorthair cat has a large oval head, small, rounded ears, a short neck, and its body is close to the ground.

  • Norwegian Forest Cat - A longhair purebred that originated from northern Europe.

  • American Shorthair- A shorthair cat needs minimal maintenance (typically black and white)

If I was going to get a Tuxedo cat, it would definitely be black and white. I'd love to have such a fancy looking cat roaming around in the house!
