People online are sharing their strong reactions to a new video from the 2024 U.S. Open that quickly went viral showing a moment between two fans in the audience.

The official X account for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships shared a video on Aug. 28 showing a man walking back to his seat with two drinks, sitting down and moving to hand one of the drinks to the woman next to him, only to have another man swoop in and give her one instead.

"This is cinema," wrote the account in the caption of the video, which has been watched over 21 million times, as of writing.

Many people online seemed to agree with the caption, with further jokes like, "Challengers (2024) 😭😭😭," "This is a horror film," and "There is no way this is not a Seinfeld scene."

"This physically hurt me. I need to know information NOW," wrote a heavily invested X user, as another said, "This is how you create a villain."

"Awkward," was one person's simple response, while someone else joked, "Well, at least he doesn’t have to get up again for a refill."

Some people decided to analyze the clip and noticed that there's another woman in the clip who might be the person the drink was really intended for, even creating a helpful diagram.

But the theory was made more complicated when someone else highlighted that the second woman also already has a half-full drink in her hand when the man returns, leading them to write, "The plot thickens."

As the mystery continues, people have become very invested and are waiting for an answer to what actually happened: "I have watched this so many times, I need a conclusion to the story."

With any luck, fans online will be able to get some answers soon, but it might just stay a viral video mystery that's never solved.
