It’s almost the 4th of July, and that calls for fireworks. There are all kinds of patriotic celebrations for Independence Day in Los Angeles, no matter what neighborhood you live in. Just like years past, the LA skies will be lit with bright colors, from SoCal beach towns to the bustling streets of Hollywood. Whether you want to spend the day at the amusement park or catch a show from a rooftop bar, here’s where to watch fireworks in Los Angeles in 2024.

1. The Hollywood Bowl

As always, the iconic Hollywood Bowl will be hosting its annual fireworks show, and this year’s July Fourth Fireworks Spectacular will feature performances by Harry Connick, Jr.. Shows will take place from July 2 to July 4 at 7:30 p.m.

The City of Huntington Beach is bringing back its multi-day celebration, which includes a block party and parade before culminating in a fireworks show on the evening of July 4. The fireworks are visible around the area, but you can also reserve tickets to see them up close. If you prefer to watch it from the comfort of a dining table instead, you can book an outdoor table at Pacific Hideaway, the restaurant at Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel.

3. Marina Del Rey

Like previous years, Marina Del Rey will be shooting fireworks from the south jetty. You can view the 20-minute firework show for free from many spots in the surrounding area, including Burton Chace Park or Fisherman’s Village, or you can see them from the water by booking City Cruises. The fireworks draw a crowd every year, so plan on arriving very early (the city recommends arriving at 1 p.m. for the 9 p.m. show) or book a table at one of the waterfront restaurants in the area.

4. Rose Bowl Stadium

Instead of Rose Bowl’s annual AmericaFest Celebration, Rose Bowl Stadium will be hosting the LA Galaxy vs. LAFC soccer match. After the game on July 4, there will be a fireworks show held on site.

5. Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Cinespia’s movie night at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery is bringing back the movie screening and fireworks combo from July 4 to 6. It promises to be a fun three-night event with screenings of Rocky, Charlie's Angels and Shrek 2, all followed by firework shows. The movies start at 9 p.m. but gates open at 7:15 p.m. and there will be concessions and a free photo booth.

Fireworks are a staple at Disneyland, and this year’s July 4th show will be nothing short of epic. The theme park is throwing a Fourth of July celebration complete with patriotic music and a ten-minute fireworks show.

Curious where to watch fireworks in Los Angeles if you're in San Fernando Valley? There’s no need to go far to see the sky light up since there will be the Councilmember Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Extravaganza at Warner Park, which will include a live concert, food trucks and booths run by local restaurants and vendors, followed by fireworks. The event is free for all to attend, but you can opt to pay for VIP tickets, which include seating in an enclosed area and parking (parking fees benefit the Valley Cultural Foundation).

8. Grand Park

Downtown LA’s 4th of July Block Party at the 12-acre Grand Park is throwing a twist on the traditional show. Instead of fireworks, they will deploy hundreds of drones to light up the sky with a patriotic show. The family-friendly and pet-friendly celebration will also have arts and crafts, games and of course, plenty of food trucks. The block party will run from 4 to 9:30 p.m. and is free to attend.

9. Newport Dunes

Newport Dunes is throwing a celebration by the water co-sponsored by the city of Newport Beach. Throughout the afternoon there will be food trucks, live entertainment, activities, water sports and even an inflatable water park. The fireworks extravaganza will begin at 9 p.m. but be sure to plan ahead and reserve parking.

10. Dodger Stadium
If you're wondering where to watch fireworks in Los Angeles, what’s more American than celebrating Independence Day with a good ol’ ball game? Cheer for the Dodgers, who will be playing the Arizona Diamondbacks at Dodger Stadium. The game will start at 6:10 p.m. and there will be fireworks celebrating July 4th after the game. 11. Burbank Starlight Bowl

The Starlight Bowl is Burbank’s amphitheater with a scenic view of the Verdugo Mountains. On July 4th, there will be a concert featuring Billy Joel and Fleetwood Mac tribute bands, Billy Nation and Mirage, starting at 6:30 p.m., followed by—you guessed it—a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Concert goers are encouraged to bring their own food and drinks for a picnic, though no hard alcohol is allowed.

12. The Port of Los Angeles

The Port of Los Angeles is not just the busiest container port in North America, but it is also a waterfront destination and home to a ton of community events. On June 28, the Port of Los Angeles is sponsoring a fireworks show and festivities, including music, food trucks and a fireworks show at 9 p.m. Kick things off by heading there early for a pre-Independence Day celebration called Cars & Stripes Forever, which boasts a classic car show, beer garden and fireworks.

If you want a heart-pounding show, head over to the the Fairplex Pomona for something very unique (and very American). Kaboom! is their July 4th extravaganza that features monster trucks, quads and motocross bikes performing stunts and racing. There will also be all kinds of food and drink vendors slinging funnel cakes, BBQ and beer. Doors open at 4 p.m. and fireworks start at 9:15 p.m.
