Lilly King shares 'special moment' by giving Olympic swimming trials gold medal to a young fan

Lilly King has earned a lot of medals in her swimming career: 5 in the Olympics, 23 in World Championship competition, and plenty more.

So why not share one with the fans.

The 27-year-old from Evansville and Indiana University gave her latest hardware to a couple of young fans at Lucas Oil Stadium on Monday night. King won the 100-meter breaststroke at the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials, earning a spot for the Paris Olympics next month.

“It’s a crazy meet, obviously, and I think I had just a really special moment tonight,” she said. “I think I basked in it a little more than I have in the past, just being here in Indy and also with it being my last trials.”

King will try to make the 200 breaststroke squad later this week.
