Netflix has released the first trailer for the new Lindsay Lohan rom-com Irish Wish in which the Freaky Friday star swaps lives again.

In the new trailer, Lohan makes a wish that comes true and wakes up the next day with a completely different life, which, aside from the missing body-swapping element, is not too dissimilar from Freaky Friday.

"When the love of her life gets engaged to her best-friend, Maddie puts her feelings aside to be a bridesmaid at their wedding in Ireland. Until a spontaneous wish for true love causes her to wake up as the bride-to-be," reads the synopsis.

As we see in the trailer, Lohan's Maddie travels to Ireland to attend her best friend Emma's (Emily in Paris's Elizabeth Tan) wedding to "the one that got away" Paul.

After phoning her mother Rosemary (Jane Seymour), Maddie says: "I can't help but think that things would be different if I had told Paul how I felt."

When Maddie wishes that it was her marrying Paul instead of Emma, her wish comes true leading to a series of hilarious mishaps, including Maddie waking up in bed with Paul.

There's the usual spanner in the works though in the form of a handsome wedding photographer named James (played by You star Ed Speleers).

Per the trailer, Maddie questions if this is the right life for her as she grows closer to James, saying: "I know this might sound strange, but I'm not sure this is supposed to be my life."

Joining Lohan and Speleers in the cast are TV presenter Ayesha Curry and Alexander Vlahos (Outlander). The movie will be available to stream on Netflix just two days before St Patrick's Day, in March.

Lohan is no stranger to a life swap movie having previously starred in both 2003's Freaky Friday and 1998's The Parent Trap.
