Loni Love Announces the Death of Her Mother Frances: 'She Lived Life by Her Own Rules'

Love shared that she "found so much peace" by going through things and "seeing the life that she made for herself"

Loni Love is mourning the loss of her mother Frances.

The former host of The Real announced Frances’ death in a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, Aug. 8.

“Momma Love passed peacefully yesterday… She lived life by her own rules which is what made me live my life the same way..,” she wrote alongside a photo of her giving her mom a kiss on the cheek.

“I found so much peace having gone through her things and seeing the life that she made for herself…I celebrate her life and will remember the good times forever!!!” she continued. “Love you Momma!!!! At this time me and the fam are kindly asking for prayers and privacy to grieve. #RIP

The comedian’s celebrity friends shared their condolences in the comment section.

“Sending you big hugs & prayers,” Kelly Rowland shared while Eboni K. Williams wrote, “So much love and light to you Loni 🙏🏾❤️✨”

Karen Derrico commented, “Sending you our condolences and your in our prayers! ❤️❤️”

On an episode of The Real back in 2015, Love shared an emotional tribute to Frances in honor of Mother’s Day and recalled her humble beginnings in Detroit’s Brewster-Douglass Housing Projects.

“I was born in the Brewster projects to a single mother. We never had much money but she did the best that she could,” Love shared as she broke down in tears. “Mama, I know what you did for me. I love very much — very, very, very much.”

“And we didn’t know how to read very well and my mother didn’t have much money but what my mother did do was make me join a book club and every month, I would get a book and this book right here taught me how to read,” she said as she held a copy of Dr. Suess’ Oh, the Places You’ll Go.

“That’s all that I can say. You’re beautiful. I love you so much and I’ll see you soon,” she concluded. “So I just want to thank her and Dr. Seuss.”
