Looking for fall festivals? Here's what South Jersey offers

Summer is winding down, so it’s fall festival time, South Jersey.

Regional organizers are offering a variety that includes cranberry and apple festivals (think apple butter and apple cider doughnuts), Oktoberfests, food and wine events, book gatherings and concerts. From Cherry Hill down to Wildwood, there are plenty of happenings to keep you entertained.

Here are some of the festivals you may want to check out:

Haddon Township Fall Festival - Sept. 14

The festival features live music, dance, rides, bounces, beer garden, food trucks, car show, artisans and crafters, kids’ games.

A street fair at Crystal Lake Pool is set for noon to 6 p.m. Jam fest at the lake is scheduled for 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Fall Arts & Crafts Festival, Williamstown - Sept. 14

Vendors, food trucks, pony rides, face painting and more are offered at Pfeiffer Community Center, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Medford Oktoberfest and Music Festival, Freedom Park - Sept. 20-21

The festival features a beer tent, live music, German food, music and dancing, plus food trucks, trivia, vendors, kids’ activities and more. Admission is free for the event, set for 5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 20 and 1 to 9 p.m. Sept. 21.

Glassboro Craft Beer Festival, Glassboro - Sept. 21

Glassboro Town Square is to have more than 50 breweries featured, along with food trucks, craft vendors and live entertainment, from noon to 5 p.m.

Merchantville Music Fest, Merchantville - Sept. 21

This free annual music festival is held downtown and features local bands, a DJ, food trucks, a beer garden and more, from 3 to 9 p.m.

Fall Festival, Bridgeton - Sept 21-22

Shoppes at Dragon Village will be the site of the festival, which is to include merchants, vendors and more.

North Wildwood Irish Fall Festival, North Wildwood - Sept. 19-22

The 33rd annual event features a food court, Irish dance lessons, 5K run, pipe exhibition, parade and Catholic Mass.

XPoNential Music Festival, Camden - Sept. 20-22

Radio station WXPN is celebrating more than 30 years of its annual music festival. It features three days of music, two stages and 23 performers on the waterfront. Some of the scheduled acts include: The Walkmen, George Porter, Jr. & Runnin', Cedric Burnside, Pete Yorn, Velvet Rouge, Roseanne Cash, Lizzie No, Greensky Bluegrass, Julia Pratt, Grace Bowers, Guster, Trampled By Turtles and Jade Bird.

Valenzano Winery’s WineFest, Shamong - Sept. 21-22

The fest is to feature 14 of New Jersey’s wineries and more than 180 locally produced wines, three stages of entertainment, and dozens of food trucks and crafters.

11th annual Blueberry Crossing Fall Fest, Hammonton - Sept. 28

The event is to be held at Blueberry Crossing shopping mall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The festival schedule includes a petting zoo, food trucks, craft and jewelry vendors, food trucks, kids' games, pumpkin painting, prizes, a DJ, fire truck, tractor displays and more.

Runnemede Fall Pike Jam Food and Music Festival, Runnemede - Sept. 28

Food trucks, drinks, live music and kids’ entertainment are to be offered between 2 and 9 p.m. at the Harry Williams Building.

Collingswood Porchfest, Collingswood - Sept. 28

Performers set up on porches around the borough at designated time slots between noon and 7 p.m. A large party is planned for the end of the day.

Margate Fall Funfest by the Bay, Margate City - Sept. 28-29

The event, which draws more than 20,000 visitors each year, features more than 110 booths, amusements, food, live bands, fine arts and crafts, and kids’ activities.

It's to begin at 11 a.m. Sept. 28 and end Sept. 29 at 5 p.m.

Collingswood Book Festival, Collingswood - Oct. 5

Now in its 22nd year, the Collingswood Book Festival is an award-winning free event and has more than 60 presenting authors and an additional 275 authors and exhibitors, according to its website. Food, games and activities are offered 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cranberry Festival: Art & Maker on Farnsworth, Bordentown - Oct. 5-6

The 34th annual festival features 100 artists, crafters and makers, plus Bordentown’s shops, entertainment, restaurants and a beer garden, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.

WheatonArts Festival of Fine Craft, Millville - Oct. 5-6

The 25th annual festival is to include two days of shopping and art, more than 125 artists and craftspeople demonstrating, displaying and selling their work, artist demonstrations, family art activities, beer and wine garden, food trucks and food vendors, glass pumpkin fundraiser and live music. It's to be held rain or shine, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is an admission fee.

This one is to feature 120 hand-made crafters, live music, apple cider, apple baked goods, apple cider donuts, apple ice cream and apple butter at Kirby’s Mill from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
