Mainstreet Monroe Concerts on the Square: The Mascot Theory
What: The award-winning, Wisconsin weekend warrior-style band will bring the hits; casually weaving in & out of rock & roll lanes and influences. Concerts will be on the east side of the square. The beer garden has been expanded for greater accessibility. There will also be a second sales area; plus extended serving hours. Food vendors will be on-site. The Mascot Theory sound has roots in the Americana genre, but the new album heavily leans into its classic rock-inspired influences.

What: Mort's is celebrating its 40th year in business. What began in 1984 as a dream, has become a generational family commitment to burgers, beers and the community. Sourdough Starter Workshop and Bingo
What: Create your own sourdough starter recipe in this beginner level workshop. Try some sourdough samplings while playing a round of bingo. This workshop will cover the basics of sourdough, including how to prepare a sourdough starter for baking, measuring by weight, shaping and scoring, recipes, terminology, tips and tricks. Each person will receive a mason jar in which to create a starter, silicone spatula, measuring cup, recipe cards and printed instructions about caring for the starter as it matures. Stephenson County Clean Up Week
What: Join The Greater Freeport Partnership for a week of community and environmental stewardship. Help make our surroundings cleaner and more beautiful. Clean-up kits are available at the office (110 W. Main St.) from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. They include bags and gloves for litter pickup and weed pulling. Full bags of trash can be deposited outside the office next to the big garage doors.

Wednesday Morning Movie Series
What: Get reserved seating tickets online (no convenience fee) or at the theatre. Doors open at 9 a.m. for entertainment and games. All locations will have a Wednesday morning auditorium dedicated for guests who may need more freedom than a traditional cinema setting allows. With the lights turned up and sound turned down, you can talk and move around, which can be helpful for young families or guests with special needs. July 31 movie is Migration (rated PG).

Library Olympics
