The voice of Love Island Iain Stirling has confused fans of the show with a throwaway comment he made last night (July 6).

The narrator's choice of words convinced some viewers that there will be a mass dumping happening on the show soon.

The islanders and fans are still recovering from Wednesday's (July 5) shock recoupling which left some long-term contestants on the show single after their partners chose to recouple.

During last night's episode, while the Islanders gathered outside, Iain shared that three or four might be exiting the show in yet another Love Island twist.

Referencing the overcast weather, he said: "I know what you’re thinking. It looks very overcast in there. Don't worry, we'll probably get rid of three or four of the cast over the next few days."

Instantly, viewers took to social media to share their thoughts and concerns in case their favourite Love Island resident would be leaving the show.

One fan even prophesied who they thought would be leaving: "There will be a mass dumping happening soon. Amber, Catherine, Elom and Ouzy are toast."

This isn't the first time the comedian's funny one-liners and quips have landed him in hot water.

At the end of last month the star joked about Mal Nichol asking Sammy Root if he had ever been stung by an insect to which the narrator quipped: "Well, there was that one time when he gave his bank account details to a Nigerian Prince who claimed to have won the lottery."

Fans will have to tune in to see if Iain is telling the truth.

Love Island airs on ITV2 and streams on ITVX.
