Man accused of robbing Fishers Taco Bell arrested. Glock switch, evidence found.

A man was arrested early Sunday after police say he robbed a Taco Bell in Fishers, stole a car and led officers on a vehicle chase.

Just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday police were called to the Taco Bell on Allisonville Road near 116th Street and learned several males climbed through the drive-thru window with guns drawn and began demanding money.

One of the suspects left in a Dodge Challenger belonging to one of the robbery victims, according to a news release from the Fishers Police Department.

The employees of the restaurant were unharmed, police said.

While officers were investigating the robbery, others saw the stolen car heading south on Allisonville Road and attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled into Marion County.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle eventually bailed and a foot pursuit ensued. A police K-9 was used during the foot chase and was ahead of officers when a shot was fired, the news release stated.

Officers were able to take the man into custody "with a K-9 apprehension," police said. The man was medically evaluated before being taken to Hamilton County Jail.

Police found "several pieces of evidence belonging to the victims" and a Glock with a machinegun conversion device was located near where the man was taken into custody.

The man, during a police interview, admitted to his role in the robbery and to firing the shot, police said.

Witnesses were able to identify the Indianapolis man who is facing 12 preliminary charges.

Detectives are were still searching for the other suspects involved Sunday morning and ask anyone with information to contact officers at 317-595-3300.
