Man bailed after sports club murder charge

A man has been released on bail after appearing in court charged with murder following an incident outside a sports club.

Police were called to Ickleford Sports and Recreation Club near Hitchin, Hertfordshire at about 22:30 BST on Sunday 16 June.

The victim, who has been named online as Grant Wallendorf, had allegedly been assaulted in the car park and died in hospital from his injuries.

Oscar Jackson, 21, of Wilshere Crescent in Hitchin, was granted bail on Monday at Cambridge Crown Court.

Mr Jackson has not yet entered a plea to the charge.

A pre-trial hearing will take place in July with a trial date set for 18 November.
