Man killed in Victor crash identified

VICTOR, NY — Ontario County sheriff's deputies identified the man killed Wednesday morning in a crash in Victor.

Salvatore J. Carmosino, 80, of Tolland, Connecticut, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester and died shortly after he arrived, deputies said.

His passenger, Carolyn J. Carmosino, 76, of the same address, was in guarded condition in the hospital's intensive care unit Thursday afternoon after surgery to treat internal injuries, deputies said.

Deputies said the investigation is continuing, but Carmosino failed to yield the right of way when he drove onto state Route 96 from Omnitech Place, deputies said.

The driver who struck Carmosino's vehicle was treated and released from the hospital, deputies said.
