Maya Rudolph for president (kind of)!

The comedian, 52, will be returning to Saturday Night Lives upcoming 50th season to play Kamala Harris after the current vice president announced her run for office. Deadline was the first to report the news.

Rudolph, who has played Harris in the past, is going to be taking on the role through the 2024 election season. The actress won’t be new to this character, as she has been portraying the politician since 2019 when Harris, 59, ran for the 2020 presidential candidacy.

After her first appearance, the VP even took to X to celebrate the honor with a GIF of Rudolph saying “No one is above the law!”

“That girl being played by @MayaRudolph on @nbcsnl? That girl was me,” she captioned it.

“YES SHE WAS SENATOR HARRIS!!!” Rudolph responded.

Harris’ husband, Doug Emhoff, even seemingly predicted the future, commenting: “Dear @MayaRudolph: @KamalaHarris hubby is still LMFAO this morning. We will make sure to get the nomination to keep you coming back to @nbcsnl!”

The following year, when Harris was named as Joe Biden’s running mate, she spoke to Rudolph and Amy Poehler about what it is like playing her and Hillary Clinton in the sketch comedy show at a fundraising event.

"You’ve each played one of us on Saturday Night Live. Can you just… walk us through what that process is like?" Harris asked the stars, according to Deadline.

"Like, in front of you? That’s embarrassing," Rudolph, who earned an Emmy nomination for her "fun aunt"-like portrayal of Harris, joked. "In terms of Senator Harris, I didn’t have an impression because I wasn’t walking around the house doing my 'Kamala.'"

"But I think it starts with trying to get someone’s voice if you can. I’m that person that when I am telling a story about someone, when I [say] the words that they said, I usually say it in that person’s voice. So I tend to mimic the sound of people’s voices, or if there are gestures or mannerisms."

"There’s nothing crazily overt about Sen. Harris, but I have to tell you, when I got to [SNL] and they put the wig on me, it was done," she concluded.

And it's been the best decision I've made,” he wrote. “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee for our party this year. Democrats — it's time to come together and beat Trump. Let's do this."
