Months after McDonald's teased a new "larger satiating burger," the restaurant is finally sharing details about the new menu item, which is already being tested in some markets. First off, we now have a name for the behemoth burger: the Big Arch.

Restaurant Business reports that the Big Arch is loaded with two patties, melted cheese, “crispy toppings,” and a “tangy McDonald’s sauce.”

“It’s a quintessential McDonald’s burger with a twist on our iconic, familiar flavors,” said McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski.

The Big Arch is already being tested in three international markets, and we know that two of those countries are Portugal and Canada. In both countries, fans are sounding off on social media with their thoughts on the new burger.

One customer was so blown away by the size, he was unsure if he'd be able to finish the burger. "It's massive, huge. I don't know if I can even eat that. Holy cow, it's like three pieces of cheese on that or something. What is happening?" he said on TikTok.

This isn't the only new addition at the chain. Customers who've visited McDonald's recently likely spotted their new $5 Meal Deal. The budget-friendly meal includes your choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, small fries, four-piece Chicken McNuggets, and a small soft drink for five bucks.

Despite this enticing deal, McDonald's recently announced its plans to undergo a "comprehensive rethink" of its prices due to declining sales this year. According to the BBC, from April to June 2024, even amid price hikes, the restaurant is seeing its biggest sales declines since 2020.
